In all of my research, I strive to engage in reciprocal relationships with the communities and individuals I work with. I am committed to scholar activism, believing that my scholarship and work in the community are more powerful when they inform each other, and public sociology, the effort to share knowledge with broad audiences for the public good.
In 2021, I received the American Sociological Association Environmental Sociology Practice & Outreach Award for outstanding practice and outreach contributions that advance equity in the context of socio-environmental relations. In 2025, I received the Association for Environmental Studies and Sciences Early Career Award.
